Golden Elks stage benefit to help homeless vets

On Sept. 20,2014 the Central Northwest District of the Colorado Elks Association held the 4th annual Red, White,
and Brew fundraiser to benefit the Homeless Veterans Stand Down to be held in Nov. at the National Guard Armory.
From 3-5pm the Golden Elks Lodge #2740 hosted the event and we had 10 Lodges participate, one, Englewood Lodge from
the Central Southeast district joined us for the 2nd year in a row.  We sold about 100 tickets and each Lodge brought 2 volunteers
to man the beer tables, each Lodge brought at least 6 beers for tasting.  Most chose beers from their city so there were over 60 beers
to taste and each table had free snacks.
We had a silent auction with each Lodge donating at least 2 items which raised $563.00 which when added to the other ticket sales
gave us a grand total of $2,566.00 which will be turned over to the Colorado Elks Association and they in turn will see that it goes to the
Veterans Stand Down at the right time.

1st picture is Patrick Wyman PER Denver 17 Lodge who started this and keeps it going.
2nd picture Wayne Rogers PDDGER/State Trustee from Golden Lodge was in charge for the hosting of the event, Rick Holt owner of KoKopeli Beer Co. and representing Northglenn Lodge brought several beers from his brewery.  Rick has been involved with the Homeless Veterans Stand Down for 14 years.
3rd picture is Englewood Lodge who served oriental beers and dressed as a sumo wrestler (Chris BlakelyPER) and the Geisha is Geff McDaniel PER.
4th picture is Golden’s table Steve Ryan Loyal Knight and security, Robin Ryan Treasurer and parking lot attendant, John Schwenke PER brought 3 home brews, and Leonard McBroom PER who brought 4 beers from his recent trip to Washington.
