Breaking: Mt. Vernon Resident shoots intruder

The Jeffco Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead at the 2300 block on Clear View Dr. in Genesee Park on Friday, Dec. 12.

A homeowner located on Clear View Dr., shot and killed an an adult male, the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office reported.

Details on how the intruder may have attempted to enter the home have not been released.

The homeowner was not injured in the shooting.
