WaPo: Mocking reporter for misidentifying ear plugs is a ‘cheap shot’

The Washington Post’s Jerry Markon wants you to leave the “courageous” Ryan Reilly alone. Making fun of someone misidentifying ear plugs as rubber bullets is a “cheap shot” apparently.
When someone’s life experience does not include a basic piece of safety equipment used in any number of professions, what else is it missing? And how does that color the “news” they report?

Cheap shot? When someone walks into a door, you can’t seriously accuse the door of taking a cheap shot.
