Letter: Look before you sign

Colorado is under siege from out-of-state signature collectors who want to use innocent-sounding ballot proposals to gut a major part of our state’s economy. According to a study from the University of Colorado, the proposals being pushed would lower Colorado’s gross domestic product by an average of $ 7.1 billion during the next five years alone and put $ 1.2 billion in tax revenue at risk – revenue that is used to build schools and make communities safer. Before you sign what looks like a well-meaning ballot petition, read it closely. The job you save may be your own.
