Jermaine O’Neal to have season-ending surgery

As Boston Celtics’ coach Doc Rivers predicted, Jermaine O’Neal won’t return to the hardwood this season.

“I don’t think he’ll be back,” Rivers said.

“There’s nothing clear and nothing final, but I don’t see him playing. I just think it’s the end to his season. I don’t see him playing, but I haven’t talked to him.”
