The gathering of conservative activists draws smart girls and guys from all over the country. In previous years, the agenda included Reps. Michele Bachmann, Tom Price and Cathy McMorris-Rogers, Herman Cain, Liz Cheney, Andrew Breitbart, Michelle Malkin and Dana Loesch. But one invitee of note isn’t interested, says Smart Girl Politics co-founder Teri Christoph: Sen. Marco Rubio.

But, hey, the GOP is doing great with women, right? So why bother to speak at a women’s conference?

I’ll bet @senrandpaul sees the value in addressing a women’s conference like #SGS13, even if @marcorubio‘s staff doesn’t.

@terichristoph #SGS13 will attract some of the most politically active conservative women in the country. What’s @marcorubio thinking?

— Fingers Malloy (@FingersMalloy) March 21, 2013

Good question. According to Christoph, Rubio’s schedulers don’t find SGP “important enough.” They’re in good company with the staffers of oh-so-successful presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

@fingersmalloy Eh, same old, same old. @marcorubio‘s schedulers don’t think we’re important enough. Neither did Romney’s, Gingrich’s, etc.
