Flashes of a frightfully fun Halloween in Golden

The Golden Library has several things lined up this weekend. The first happens tonight, Thursday Oct. 27 where they will be gearing it’s DIY lab to Halloween this week. You can go there and help your kids make a cool battery operated torch or other creations to carry on their adventures over the weekend.

If you or your kids like to tinker, create or reinvent things them the DIY space at the library is the place to go. It’s for people of all ages, although kids under 12 should bring a grown up along. The DIY lab is open 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Oct. 28 it’s time for Teens After Dark: Halloween. It runs from 6-8:30 p.m. and should be pretty cool. It’s time for Halloween-themed games such as Ultimate Werewolf, Bowling for Skulls, Necromancer Shovelfight, and more! Costumes encouraged, if you dare. You will need to register for this one so call them at (303) 235-5275 or drop by the library.

The Golden Library is located at 1019 10th Street in Golden. For more information on all the local libraries have to offer check out www.jeffcolibrary.org.

Trick or Treat Train

Yes, once again it’s full steam ahead for tricks, treats and trains at the Colorado Railroad Museum’s Trick or Treat Train.

They have a Railroad Halloween Town that’s a safe place to enjoy the spirit. You can catch a ride behind an historic locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by spooky conductors and engineers in full costume.

The Trick or Treat Train departs every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.. Make sure to visit all the Town’s special stops to fill your treat bags and tickle your funny bones. You can also check out their “not so spooky” haunted railcar or the Olde Railroaders silly graveyard. Plus you can get a great picture of your costume as you pose in front of the Pumpkin Patch.

Museum Members and children under 2 are free, $ 5 for children (2-15), $ 15 for adults, $ 10 for seniors (over 60). For more information visit www.coloradorailroadmuseum.org. or call (303) 279-4591.

The Colorado Railroad Museum is located at 17155 W. 44th Avenue in Golden.

So, everyone have a safe and very happy Halloween!
