Children benefit from Golden beer fundraiser

The inaugural beer festival on May 18 at the Buffalo Rose in Golden proved to be a fun time and a great way to help local charities. Two nonprofits benefited from the event: the Jefferson/Gilpin Court Appointed Special Advocates and the statewide organization, Mount St. Vincent. Both charities exist to help children.

The event was also a way to showcase Coors products to those in the industry, said Mike Scott, Golden’s Coors sales representative, and attendees were able to enjoy more than 50 different beer samples.

Golden-based band Coral Creek entertained the crowd with original and cover songs in the Americana genre. The beer fest will become an annual event, Scott said, and each year it should get bigger and better.
