During opening statements at today’s House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations hearing about the U.S. response to Ebola, Democrats on the committee already seem to have identified one of the culprits: Funding.

Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette of Colorado was first:

Rep. Degette pushes lack of funding of gov agencies as reason for no #Ebola vaccine. Will be a point pushed by Ds today.

Democrat claims that the problem exists because the GOP cut Ebola funding have been thoroughly debunked, but that didn’t stop California Rep. Henry Waxman from also blaming “funding cuts” for increasing the Ebola threat:

"We need to commit adequate funding to public health infrastructure." Rep Henry Waxman

Waxman: We shouldn't point fingers, however…if funding hadn't been cut.

Welp. Congress holds a hearing on Ebola response & Waxman complains that the bad response is lack of funding. #IHATECONGRESS

"We have our share of responsibility for not funding #publichealth infrastructure" both in the US and Africa – Rep. Waxman

@FoxNews now waxman is blaming republicans for funding cuts. Total waste of time. Only our gov't can turn Ebola into a circus
