Search for Missing Man Continued

A thorough search of Clear Creek in Golden today, failed to provide any clues into the disappearance of 39 year old Sean Duplessis (Dew-pleh-see) from Alberta, Canada.  According to a co-worker, he and Duplessis were near the kayak park along Clear Creek around midnight on Saturday morning, June 7, when they decided to jump in.  According to the co-worker, both had been drinking.

At the time, creek waters were too high to perform a complete search of the area.  Because water levels are now down below 800 cubic feet per second (cfs), swiftwater rescue crews were able to search the entire creek from bank to bank.  Crews from the Golden Fire Department and Arvada Fire Department, with assistance from Golden Police Park Rangers and Miller Coors Security, searched from about 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  They used a series of techniques including walking through the water, probing throughout the creek and the banks, visual searches and draining a nearby canal diversion pond.  Golden Police also borrowed a drone to do an aerial search of the area last week.  The search included the area west of where Mr. Duplessis allegedly entered the water, through Golden and the Coors property, past city limits just east of McIntyre Street.

At this time, all resources have been exhausted and there are no more leads.  Because Mr. Duplessis has not been found, he is still considered a missing person.  If you have any information, please contact Golden Police at 303-384-8045.
