White House on jobs crisis: No biggie, we’ll just keep on keepin’ on. Also, BUSH!

Following a devastating jobs report that’s fueling recession fears, the White House spin began this morning with a response by Alan Krueger, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers:

Problems in the job market were long in the making and will not be solved overnight.

So, then, about how many nights would you say this will take to solve?

WH jobs stmt: problems "will not be solved overnight" — for the record, POTUS has been in office for 1,228 nights http://t.co/7tf4c51a

But at least Obama will hold himself accountable for the failed recovery, right?

The economy lost jobs for 25 straight months beginning in February 2008, and over 8 million jobs were lost as a result of the Great Recession.  We are still fighting back from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

George W is in the White House for one day yesterday and unemployment goes up! Must be his fault 🙂

Blaaaaame Booooosh!

Yeah, nothing shocking there. But maybe the White House has some ideas about how to turn this economy around?

It is critical that we continue the President’s economic policies that are helping us dig our way out of the deep hole that was caused by the severe recession.

Definition of insanity. MT @mikeallen: White House says 'critical' to maintain Obama policies despite bad jobs report

The spin isn’t just coming from the White House. As always, Andrea Mitchell is doing her part:

After terrible jobs report white house says economy added private sector jobs for 27 straight mths – economy growing bt not fast enuf –

The Twitterverse doesn’t find the absurd White House statement very convincing.

The pathetic statement out of the White House after these jobs numbers reflects very poorly on President Obama. For shame, sir.

The message from the White House on a week jobs report "Congress needs to do more" Thats like a CEO blaming his company for bad performance

2 years w/a Democrat supermajority, 3.5 years in the White House and you're suggesting you need more time to fix the economy, @BarackObama?

Democrats (who control the White House, The Senate, and The House for two years) are blaming Republicans for unemployment rates. #tcot
