Off the Wire- Golden Railroad Museum
January 2015
It is January, and that can mean only one thing in Denver – The National Western Stock Show. It celebrates Colorado’s western heritage, with livestock shows, rodeos, and equestrian events. Railroads played an important role in the transportation of livestock for nearly a century. Stop by the Museum and view some of the narrow gauge stock cars in our collection!
The Polar Express was a sellout, and a great experience for both our guests and participants. Special thanks for our staff and volunteers who made the magic possible, and to Rick Bernstein who directed the show! Proceeds from the event directly fund restoration projects, educational programs, exhibits and our research library.
Thanks to our many donors who made generous Colorado Gives Day and year end gifts! We have ambitious plans this year, and your support will help us to make those plans a reality!
We have an exciting year ahead! Each month has a different theme, and we’ll have events, exhibits, and educational opportunities that reflects those themes throughout the year. You’ll find a full menu of activities on our website, so check it often!
Ride the Rails Saturdays has something of interest for the whole family – train rides and stories that will capture your imagination.
Each month features a different theme. In January, we bring 1800’s Westward expansion and the building of the railroad across the United States to life in a multimedia presentation. Click here for the January Schedule
