Missing Man Identified
Around midnight on Saturday morning, June 7, Golden Police Officers were called to Clear Creek in Golden on the report of a man who jumped into the creek and was missing. A preliminary search was done for the man, and a more extensive search of Clear Creek was conducted during daylight hours on Saturday, but it was unsuccessful.
The missing man has been identified as 39 year old Sean Duplessis (Dew-pleh-see) from Alberta, Canada. Duplessis has been in Colorado for the past two months working for his company, Abel Corporation in Canada. He is 5’8” tall and weighs 210 pounds. He is a husband and father of a 15-year old boy and a 9-year old girl. Although he is presumed to be dead, he is considered a missing person. So if anyone has seen Duplessis, please contact Golden Police at 303-384-8045.
Sean Duplessis and a co-worker were near the kayak park along Clear Creek when they decided to jump in. According to the co-worker, both had been drinking. He suspected that it had been approximately 45 minutes from the time he last saw Duplessis to when police arrived.
