Hawaii’s insurance exchange spent how much per person?

Are you ready for some sticker shock? American Commitment president Phil Kerpen took a look at some of the numbers around Obamacare’s state health insurance exchanges, and if these numbers are to be believed, states spent as much as $44,000 in federal grant money to sign up a single person.

The HealthCare.gov site turned out to be a relative bargain, coming in at just $764. But Hawaii?

That’s right. In its first month, Cover Oregon managed to sign up zero people through its $300,000 website. The state did accept paper applications, however. And don’t forget, these numbers track individual people who selected a plan, not people who have purchased insurance.
