DOCENT TRAINING at the Colorado Railroad Museum

|
Telling Colorado’s Story thru Trains
|
Docents make a difference! It is the docent that engages visitors with the museum’s story through tours, educational programs and demonstrations. It is also the docents who answer visitor questions about the various objects and exhibits at the museum. Theirs is a unique role often making the difference between what is a phenomenal experience and one that just isn’t quite up to its potential.
This spring we are hosting a docent training for volunteers to provide them with some of the basic skillsets that make the difference between the extraordinary and the so so. We will introduce a draft of the museum’s new interpretation manual and how to use it, provide background training on engaging visitors with our main themes and ensuring their experience is the best possible. Plus, we will just have some fun.
This is the perfect workshop for both beginning docents and those who attended last fall’s training.
The workshop will be repeated twice so sign up for either:
- Saturday, February 27 from 9 am to 1 pm
(lunch provided) - Tuesday, March 1 from 1 pm to 4:30 pm
(snacks provided)
