Car convoy rolls through Golden

The Colorado Car Convoy made two stops in Golden on March 4.

The convoy is a run-up to its sponsor, the Denver Auto Show, which happens March 16 – 20 at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. The auto show will feature more than 500 cars on display, but the convoy featured primarily fuel efficient or electric cars, and some luxury cars.

Both the auto show and the convoy are “great ways to introduce consumers to the different cars and trucks out there,” said public relations and marketer ZJ Czupor. “It’s a way to come out and see the cars, and learn about them with no pressure.”

The convoy tour started off in the Western Slope on March 2, then went to Montrose and made stops along its way to Frisco and Vail on the 3rd. It started off at Auraria Campus on March 4, then proceeded to its two stops in Golden at the Golden Library’s parking lot and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory before it went north to Greeley and Fort Collins.

Some of the cars on the convoy included a 2016 Wrapped MINI Cooper, 2016 Nissan Leaf XL, 2015 Ford F150, 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid, 2016 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and 2016 Lexus RX450h. Local dealerships were also welcome to join the convoy at the various stops.

The convoy concluded on the 5th, when it stopped in Colorado Springs, Ca on City and Pueblo.
